Package: initscripts Version: 2.86.ds1-14 Severity: normal
Hello, after recently installing initscripts, I can no longer power off the machine using 'shutdown -h now'. The reason is that there is a syntax error in /etc/init.d/halt which sets an option '-h' for /sbin/halt, but such an option does not exist. The conditional to clear that flag also doesn't trigger, so the call to /sbin/halt effectively looks something like halt .... -h So, there are at least two problems in this script at least: - calling /sbin/halt with '-h' which is illegal - some non-functional code aimed at protecing RAIDs Best, --Toni++ -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.16-1-686-smp Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Versions of packages initscripts depends on: ii debianutils 2.16 Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii e2fsprogs 1.38+1.39-WIP-2006.04.09-2 ext2 file system utilities and lib ii libc6 2.3.6-7 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii lsb-base 3.1-5 Linux Standard Base 3.1 init scrip ii mount 2.12r-10 Tools for mounting and manipulatin initscripts recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
