I installed r8168-dkms from the Synaptics repository. I tried to blacklist r8169 unsuccessfully. I ended up with the same driver as before. I expected a driver which supports gigabyte speeds.
Please report this directly to Mint, the kernel is always a very distribution specific thing. There is nothing I can do about it in Debian.
The output of 'dkms status' might be interesting, too. Andreas
