Hi Dieter, when you say "default session", do you mean in the top-right menu? If so, the LightDM (not the greeter) should run /etc/X11/Xsession, which in turn might run different stuff depending on your local configuration (check in ~/.xsession and ~/.Xsession). Could you provide logs from /var/log/lightdm and ~/.xsession-errors ? In any case, it's likely not a but in the greeter (whose role is minimal), but let's wait for more info before reassigning.
