Package: podman Version: 4.3.1+ds1-8+b1 Severity: minor Linux 5.13+ (so Debian stable+) added user namespace support to overlayfs. Podman can leverage that and use overlayfs in rootless containers, which results into performance benefits compared to fuse-overlayfs.
See this older RedHat article for more: https://www.redhat.com/sysadmin/podman-rootless-overlay As such, I don't think it makes sense for podman to Recommends: fuse-overlayfs anymore. At best it should be a Suggests, if not dropped entirely. What do you think? Regards, Faidon
