Package: bitchx
Version: 1:1.1-4
Severity: important

On sparc platform, bitchx segfault at startup on some irc server (yes, it is
very specific).

I recompiled upstream, applied the two patches:
combined-debian-changes.diff
static-declarations.patch
(otherwise, it does not compile with gcc-4)

Here is the backtrace of the segfault:
#0  0x000aeff0 in lame_resolv (hostname=0xffffffff <Address 0xffffffff out of
bounds>, buffer=0x1571b4) at ../../source/network.c:643
#1  0x000e6130 in userhost_returned (from=0xffb3306c "irc.inp-net.rezosup.org",
ArgList=0xffb32fbc) at ../../source/who.c:988
#2  0x000bb45c in numbered_command (from=0xffb3306c "irc.inp-net.rezosup.org",
comm=302, ArgList=0xffb32fb8) at ../../source/numbers.c:665
#3  0x000c28a0 in parse_server (orig_line=0xffb3306b
":irc.inp-net.rezosup.org") at ../../source/parse.c:1912
#4  0x000cfa68 in do_server (rd=0xffb33978, wr=0xffb338f8) at
../../source/server.c:584
#5  0x0008eaa0 in BX_io (what=<value optimized out>) at ../../source/irc.c:1337
#6  0x0008fa10 in main (argc=1381352, argv=<value optimized out>, envp=<value
optimized out>) at ../../source/irc.c:1705

You can reproduce it on irc.bde.inp-toulouse.fr. This server is part of the
network, and on other servers of the network, it does not segfault
(it is not linked with server version or configuration so).
