First, this is with 2.4.2.1-2, the current testing version. So it's not informative as a test of 2.6.
I have not been experiencing problems with evolution startup. Since I don't start it frequently, I tried about 5 startups from the command line. I did one --force-shutdown in the middle of the test. It started every time, though always generating ------------------ adding hook target 'source' (evolution-2.4:15659): camel-WARNING **: camel_exception_get_id called with NULL parameter. (evolution-2.4:15659): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_gc_set_foreground: assertion `GDK_IS_GC (gc)' failed --------------------------- on the terminal. My problem, and possibly that of others, arose when creating a POP account. This didn't seem to crash my system; on the other hand, the pop account doesn't show up in the list of accounts that evo shows in the left pane, even after a restart. This might be related to the account having somewhat made up parameters (perhaps evo doesn't show it if it can't make contact?). -- Ross Boylan wk: (415) 514-8146 185 Berry St #5700 [EMAIL PROTECTED] Dept of Epidemiology and Biostatistics fax: (415) 514-8150 University of California, San Francisco San Francisco, CA 94107-1739 hm: (415) 550-1062
