The step from v7 to v8 was very important for the quality of PDF. I get here (with gs pointing to gs-gpl version 8.01) identical results from pdflatex and from latex+ dvips+ps2pdf. The only error in the bookmarks that I can see is 'N' and 'n' instead of the proper 'Eng' and 'eng' (or 'Ng' and 'ng') glyphs. But that happens with both routes and may well be a font issue. How about forwarding this patch upstream? I think Heiko is better equiped than we to judge all the fine details here. cheerio ralf
