Hi,
sorry but I forgot one important thing, the /etc/apt/preferences and
/etc/apt/sources.list
I provided are used to install the testing package of emacs21-common.
To make synaptic crashing we need, once emacs from testing has been
installed, to remove the testing from the sources.list.
Then relaunch synaptic and select the emacs21-common package and go to
force version to have the crash.
Sorry for this important omission.
