Yes but if he is using KDE and worried about library bloat, GTK is relatively small. Also as I understand, KDE packages in Sarge (Quite old) does not include recent SCIM compatibility patches in the upstream. Basically, even if we make skim, it does not seem to be usable for Sarge.
