Dear Maintainer, *** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate *** * What led up to the situation? Trying to transfer large files from one sever to another via cifs. This problem only manifests when the linux box is pushing a file to the windows server -- never happens when the windows server is initiating. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? I mounted the window share, and tried copying a file to that mounted share. * What was the outcome of this action? It hangs indefinitely... only a reboot will get me out. It is worth noting that when I booted this Debian server to Clonzilla live media (Clonezilla-Live 2.8.1-12-amd64), this problem did NOT occur. The transfer went smoothly, and did not hang. It worked beautifully. It is only under Bookworm that this seems to happen. * What outcome did you expect instead? I expected the file to transfer, and then give me my prompt back.
