Hi Christian!

Thank you for your bug report.

This is one of the disadvantages of tre-agrep. You should think about
using agrep from the glimpse package instead (ding recommends
glimpse (>= 4.18.7-6) | tre-agrep because of this).

In contrast to tre-agrep, agrep is much faster...

If you always use this settings, you may think about changing ding to
use egrep or "internal-search" instead of tre-agrep (or agrep).
You can select the search method by clicking on "Preferences" ->
"Search preferences" and then select the Search method
(e.g. "De<->En") and click on "Change". In the next menu you can
select your preferred search command in a pull down menu.

You can also configure a copy of the "De<->En" search method, that
uses a different grep implementation, so you can switch between the
two with one click.

So from my point this isn't really an issue but maybe a missing
feature (wishlist but), since it may be a good idea to automatically
switch from tre-agrep to egrep if "errors=0" is selected.
Since agrep (in contrast to tre-agrep) always is fast enough, my
motivation of implementing this is quite limited (maybe someone else
want's to write a patch?).

Christian, what do you prefer: closing the bug or downgrading it to
whishlist?

Greetings
Roland
