Package: munge Version: 0.5.15-2 Severity: important X-Debbugs-Cc: hri...@venev.name
Dear Maintainer, When the `munge` package is upgraded, its prerm script runs `rm -r /run/munge`. This removes the socket of the currently running munge daemon, making it unreachable. This is especially problematic if automatic service restarts have been disabled via `/usr/sbin/policy-rc.d`, as the service will not be restarted and will remain in a broken state. I think it would be better if the prerm script didn't remove anything unless the package was being purged. -- System Information: Debian Release: trixie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 6.5.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/24 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=C.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=C.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages munge depends on: ii adduser 3.137 ii libbz2-1.0 1.0.8-5+b1 ii libc6 2.37-12 ii libgcrypt20 1.10.2-3 ii libmunge2 0.5.15-2 ii sysvinit-utils [lsb-base] 3.08-1 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.13.dfsg-3 munge recommends no packages. munge suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
