Thanks for the patch, though I already have a commit with the same
changes laying around [1], I have been unsure when to apply it. I guess
the time is nearing.

As for the backporting, I at least have no intention of backporting this
package.

Upstream has talked about a new release 'soon', I intend to include this
change at the same time. Regardless of the new release, it will be
uploaded by the end of this year at the latest.
