Pinging this bug; I'd really like gpsd to drop its Build-Depends on makedev. Various efforts in Debian are trying to avoid necessarily having "real root" powers during package build. However, makedev creates device nodes at install time, which fails in all of these "reduced root" build environments. Thanks for considering, Chris
