The rxvt-unicode patch just works around it. According to the Perl upstream bug (https://github.com/Perl/perl5/issues/21366), at least one other application (irssi) is affected. Fedora has apparently reverted a commit in Perl to fix the problem, see https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/perl/c/dee564d443debbf47127d668f0982165835d873b. Cheers, Sven
