Yes, but I'd also like them to work when hosted on a random non-Debian 
webserver.
My use case is documentation generated out of git and hosted on Gitlab
pages.

This is how I manage https://freexian-team.pages.debian.net/debusine/ and
it works well, but when I tried to move that to furo I encountered the
issues that I reported here and that you can see here:
