Package: sasl2-bin
Severity: wishlist

please consider adding the following files to the package:

/etc/logcheck/ignore.d.server/saslauthd:
  ^\w{3} [ :[:digit:]]{11} [._[:alnum:]-]+ saslauthd+\[[[:digit:]]+\]:
Domain/Realm not available\.$
  ^\w{3} [ :[:digit:]]{11} [._[:alnum:]-]+ saslauthd\[[[:digit:]]+\]:
\(pam_unix\) check pass; user unknown$
  ^\w{3} [ :[:digit:]]{11} [._[:alnum:]-]+ saslauthd\[[[:digit:]]+\]:
do_request[[:space:]]*: NULL password received$

/etc/logcheck/violations-ignore.d/logcheck-saslauthd:
  ^\w{3} [ :[:digit:]]{11} [._[:alnum:]-]+ saslauthd\[[[:digit:]]+\]: DEBUG:
auth_pam: pam_authenticate failed: User not known to the underlying
authentication module$
  ^\w{3} [ :[:digit:]]{11} [._[:alnum:]-]+ saslauthd\[[[:digit:]]+\]:
do_auth[[:space:]]*: auth failure: \[user=[._[:alnum:]-]+\] \[service=smtp\]
\[realm=[._[:alnum:]-]+\] \[mech=pam\] \[reason=PAM auth error\]$

Note that this will require coordination with the maintainers of the
logcheck-database package, which currently provides
/etc/logcheck/ignore.d.server/saslauthd, and a conflict.

This is the clean solution. If you do not want to provide logcheck
filters within the package, please reassign this bug to the
logcheck-database package. This would be the unclean solution.
