My knowledge here is incomplete, and I'd be happy to be corrected, but: I think that documentation relates to the old "bc" backend of racket. For most architectures we are using the new "cs" backend (and will possibly migrate the remaining architectures). So it may not be possible to do the same kind of linking as was done with the old backend.
