I installed the program on my notebook which in principle has the same system version as the desktop, and there birdfont also works... > > >> ii libwebkit2gtk-4.0-37 2.42.5-1~deb12u1 > > Could you check its files with "LANG=C ls -l > /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libwebkit2gtk-4.1.so*" > and update its package with newest libwebkit2gtk-4.0-37 package, please? > > It was updated as > https://lists.debian.org/debian-security-announce/2024/msg00095.html This is the output from the desktop: LANG=C ls -l /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libwebkit2gtk-4.1.so* lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 27 May 8 12:14 /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libwebkit2gtk-4.1.so.0 -> libwebkit2gtk-4.1.so.0.13.5 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 76081696 May 8 12:14 /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libwebkit2gtk-4.1.so.0.13.5 jsbien@JSBbookworm:~$ birdfont birdfont: symbol lookup error: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libwebkit2gtk-4.0.so.37: undefined symbol: gst_transcoder_get_sync_signal_adapter Could the kernel be the culprit??? I avoid to reboot the system because sometimes it fails for unknown reason (perhaps a hardware problem?). So on the desktop the kernel is older than on the notebook, on which the program works.
