I know a few things about writing man pages, but you have listed many more things here which I had always been looking for, both in how to write a man page and in which tools can be helpful there. I will work through the points you have raised in upstream eventually, but that will take a bit of time due to the number of points. I am tracking this upstream at https://github.com/spkr-beep/beep/issues/40 but will continue to monitor and reply via email to [email protected]. Whenever possible, I want to upstream improvements so that all distro packages for many distributions can benefit from them, and that is my plan here as well.
