It would be really great if you could open such thing on alioth. I want to
do so since a long while, but didn't find the time to so far.

I don't think you need any sponsor, I can review and upload the package if
you prepare a release. Right now, there is at least 4 easy bugs in the
package and a new version upstream. It would be wonderful if you could do
something.
