Package: cifs-utils Version: 2:6.11-3.1+deb11u2 In debian 11 and 12 (oldstable and stable) python is a 'deps'. In debian 10 it isn't.
Suggested fix: cifs-utils package made to not depend on python. Ramble: Ideally all bits of samba would work without python (someone did provide a patch years ago...) Debian USP is its ability to function as a desktop without depending on python. Very different from Ubuntu/Fedora... Thanks, jo
