Package: mutt
Version: 1.5.11+cvs20060403-1
Severity: normal
I am not sure if this is a bug in mutt, less, or the curses library and is
posting this as a mutt bug for now. Please reassign as appropriate.
Within mutt, when piping a message to less(1), sometimes less produces a
"staircase effect" with inverse text, like this:
------------------------ cut here ------------------------- 8< ----------------

This is a multi-part message in MIME format.

:
------------------------ cut here ------------------------- 8< ----------------
If I instead pipe the message to "cat|less" (instead of just "less"), the
output becomes normal.
This only happens intermittently but it happens quite often; unfortunately I
have not seen a pattern how this can be triggered.
