Where do you see this string? According to git it has been removed from sbuild in 2011:

If you then try running sbuild, it refuses to run unless /usr/sbin/sendmail exists.
I can't reproduce this, can you share a log?
I suggest the default behaviour should be changed to simply leaving the log in the current directory, just like any other command might do.
