It seem to be based on some misunderstanding, so I added a comment at the end of both to make it clear that the file name and ID of the appstream metadata file do not need to match the desktop file filename. > Each application IDs must be globally unique. > So we can't change application IDs without upstream fix. I do not understand this statement. Of course Debian can change the application ID without waiting for upstream to change it there first.
