Hi, im not the bug submitter but i'd like to ask you to reconsider closing this bug. This bug is about the documention and informaton that debian gives its users --- it really undermines the reputation of debian if that information is not right or if users are effectively told not to use debian packages. I can see that you closed it because upstream didnt want to make a change --- but no-one would never expect upstream to make such a change. Their decision is reasonable from their pov (i assume that they do not want debian users asking for suport), but does not, in my view, reflect the pov of debian, which needs to be different. --- if it was code it would be totally different, but this one seems to be purely a documentation and integration issue -- this is (perhaps the only) place where debian needs to add value -- there is arguably little value in debian being reduced to a thin wrapper over upstream that it will not diverge when there is a clear case to do so. I would recommend not installing the file at all, or replacing it with something targetted at Debian, perhaps linking to upstream's version. It's presumably a very small change. Thanks for considering and for maintaining this package.
