Dear Maintainer,

I'm interested in salvaging your package, ossp-uuid, in accordance with the
Package Salvaging procedure outlined in the Developers Reference at

https://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/developers-reference/pkgs.en.html#package-salvaging
Your package meets the criteria for this process, and I would love to
assist in preserving and maintaining it. As the Salvage process
suggests, here is a list of the criteria that apply, in my opinion:

  - NMUs, especially if there has been more than one NMU in a row.
  - Bugs filed against the package do not have answers from the
    maintainer.

I've merged the git repository from
  https://alioth-archive.debian.org/git/collab-maint/ossp-uuid.git.tar.xz
with the partial(!) import to Salsa with a Vcs-Git: fix at
  https://salsa.debian.org/debian/ossp-uuid
and imported it to
  https://salsa.debian.org/nabijaczleweli/ossp-uuid
then imported new upstream 1.6.3, and caught up on maintenance.

Your package was highlighted in the Bug of the Day initiative,
  https://salsa.debian.org/tille/tiny_qa_tools/-/wikis/Tiny-QA-tasks
which aims to introduce newcomers to manageable tasks
and guide them through the workflow to solve them.

This was not a manageable task, as I archived the entire OSSP software
suite as the new upstream, and caught up on 18 years of maintenance at
  https://sr.ht/~nabijaczleweli/ossp
but one may dream!

Best,
