I'm not sure what I should review in detail. I understand that
you reviewed my proposed changes to the man pages and took those parts
which you deem sensible - that's perfectly fine for me. So from my
POV, there is nothing breaking unstable.

I wanted to have a look at the translated man pages, so I took the git
branch and tried:

helge@twentytwo:/tmp/adduser$ LC_ALL=C make -f po/Makefile all
make: *** No rule to make target '../deluser', needed by 'adduser.pot'. Stop.

helge@twentytwo:/tmp/adduser$ LC_ALL=C make -f po/Makefile update
make: *** No rule to make target '../deluser', needed by 'adduser.pot'. Stop.

Is this the expected behaviour?

I agree, having a stable baseline is best for most translators. (I usually
follow upstream when working in git, but this is the exception).

From my POV yes, as you pulled everything you agree with.

Simply tell me when you are ready for the string freeze, preferrably
late November/early December. Then I can coordinate the update.

Greetings

        Helge
