Source: python-sfml Version: 2.3.2.dev1+dfsg-2 Severity: important Hi,
I propose removing the python-sfml package. Upstream seems to be very dead. The last commit was March 2020, but those commits were mainly admin and CI related. The last commit which touched the real guts of the code was in 2017. It still only claims to support SFML 2.3.2 - SFML 2.4 was released in 2016. Old Cython is being removed from Debian so it needs porting to Cython 3 and I don't really want to do this. SFML 3.0 is coming up which will require lots of porting and catching up with the SFML features since 2.3. Popcon is < 100. It has no rdeps (only games-python3-dev recommends it). For these reasons I think we should remove it. If anyone wants to keep it they should be prepared to become the new upstream. If nobody replies after a while I'll ask for the package to be removed. Thanks, James
