Package: hostapd Version: 2:2.10-22 Severity: minor X-Debbugs-Cc: [email protected]
Greetings,
two things I noticed when looking into the hostapd package:
1. In the shipped init script, I spot in line 45:
| log_warning_msg "hostapd config not in /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf -- please
read /usr/share/doc/hostapd/NEWS.Debian.gz"
This file does not exist. Perhaps it did in the past and this is just
a leftover?
2. in /usr/share/doc/hostapd/README.Debian:
| To use the example as a template:
| # zcat /usr/share/doc/hostapd/examples/hostapd.conf.gz > \
| /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf
That file is uncompressed, so it could be just
| # cp /usr/share/doc/hostapd/examples/hostapd.conf \
| /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf
Related, I'd suggest to chmod 600 that file - it may contain sensitive
information.
All the best,
Christoph
