I suggest filing a new bug but not as grave please since gimp works for me and works for many other people. It would help if you could try to figure out what makes your gimp install different. Could you try installing Debian Testing or Unstable in a virtual machine and then install gimp from unstable. Does gimp crash there? If not, are you able to figure out what changes would make gimp crash? Do you have any additional gimp 3 plugins installed? Thank you, Jeremy Bícha
