-------------------------------
    [upstream]:

Yes, this is the standard for configuration files, not for trash cans.
For example, the Gnome trash is in ~/.Trash
So, I will stay for the moment on the current implementation.

Then Gnome has a problem to Fix. It's no excuse to say "somebody else
is doing it". It's part if the quality process to improve things into
better directions.

The convention is not about configuration files only, but meant for
applications to store things in one location and not scattered around
in different places. Paraller convention has been in used to organize
/etc, if any reference is needed.

In order to keep the $HOME in sane condition, any effort to
canonicalize the naming should be taken into consideration. The
current use of

        ~/.xfetrash

could be easily transferred into

        ~/.xfe/trash

    -----------------------------

I will close this bug,, its seems solved to me.

No, the bug is still present, but you might want to set
priority lower. This really needs fixing, because the
number of application is huge in Debian and any variation
in programs makes things harder to adminstrate.
