Well, your much more advanced than I'm on those topics, so I just trust
you :-)

My only point would be that if you commit it to stable, you change the
comments and remove Debian from it, as I think it is also a problem for
other distributions using /dev/mapper (not sure, but I think there were
messages around that in the ML). So your fix is aimed at being a general
one. The question I now have is : is it indeed the case :-)

But we could see that later. It already fixes a support issue for
Debian, which is sufficient to put it upstream.

If another distro uses it slightly differently, then we'll have to
remember to adapt it to those needs as well.
