GNOME is going to archive gnome-color-manager very soon. Once that
happens, bug fixes, bug reports, and translation updates will no
longer be accepted.

Debian's gnome metapackage depended on gnome-color-manager for Debian
12 but not in current Trixie.

If gnome-color-manager is installed, it enabled an extra Calibrate
button in gnome-control-center's Color panel. However, the current
Color panel in general does not work for Wayland sessions and will be
disabled or removed for GNOME 49.

See
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-control-center/-/issues/3181#note_2433528

The only remaining reverse dependency in Debian is colord-kde and it
looks like that dependency is erroneous. See
https://bugs.debian.org/1104856 and https://bugs.debian.org/1104855

What do you think about removing gnome-color-manager now, in time for Trixie?

Thank you,
Jeremy Bícha
