Perhaps you're using 'testsupplicant' already? It may be that the
newest version of wpa_supplicant in sid doesn't play well with that, and
that I need to update it.
Or perhaps you're not, since it looks like I never wrote any
documentation for that script in detect.conf(5)... Maybe nobody is
using it!

testsupplicant (no parameters)
Starts a wpa_supplicant process in order to connect to a WPA
protected network. Note that the configuration file for
wpa_supplicant is expected to be at /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf
and it is expected to be properly configured.

Does that give you enough clues? I'll attach the current testsupplicant
script I'm using, because I have tried to change it for the newer
supplicant in Sid but I lacked testers :-)
If it works for you, I'll roll a 0.3.29.
