Hi again,ok, I'm convinced now that 0 is slightly better than -DBL_MAX. I'll prepare another upload soon.
Regarding upstream: doesn't look like any development is still happening there. There was a short exchange after I took over the package, but even with the patches back then no new release was in sight. I have a reply from a feature request back in 2012. My bug report from 2020 did not receive a reply (https://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/?58504).
