upstream accepted the proposed patch,
so either next packaged upstream release should contain the fix,
or Debian could cherry-pick below commit.
This is fixed in experimental. I'm going to ask the release team for a
freeze exception to get the new upstream release into trixie, since it
seems to have lots of good bugfixes; if that fails, we can cherry-pick
the bug fix instead.
