Package: xdg-utils Version: 1.1.3-4.1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
With a freshly installed Bookworm (arm64 but that shouldnt matter) system with LXDE + evolution installed, xdg-email says this: xdg-email /usr/bin/xdg-email: 750: gnome-open: not found worker@debian:~/Downloads$ apt-file search gnome-open xpra: /usr/lib/xpra/gnome-open It seems xpra is the lone provider of gnome-open as of now and as of arm64. I can't install xpra here as it is a huge package and a security risk in here. The old libgnome2-bin package which traditionally carried the gnome-open command is long gone. I suspect this is a detection issue related to my LXDE I presume. I also tested with the version in sid and I have the same issue. I have the same issue in XFCE too. Also, If I xdg-open mailto://[email protected] (evolution:25837): GLib-GIO-WARNING **: 15:00:11.028: Your application did not unregister from D-Bus before destruction. Consider using g_application_run(). This works and pops up a new Compose Evolution window. So, the mechanism works in theory it's just the gnome-open call that breaks xdg-email here. Thanks and have a nice day, Alexandru Mihail -- Package-specific info: Desktop environment: XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP=LXDE -- System Information: Debian Release: 12.11 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable-security'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: arm64 (aarch64) Kernel: Linux 6.1.0-37-arm64 (SMP w/4 CPU threads) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US:en Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled xdg-utils depends on no packages.
