Package: minicom Version: 2.8-2 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, Minicom v2.8 (on raspberry pi 4 )
Defective behaviour verified on v 2.8, 2.9 and 2.10, also across Rpi 4, 5 debian (arm) and AMD64 Linux Mint Pi 5 os is Debian GNU/Linux 12 (bookworm) release 12, and minicom 2.8-2 Minicom has a bug on file send. A mismatch between the name of the folder displayed for selection and the actual folder name selected. Also some folders missing from minicom directory display. Bug is reproducible with Github riwide folder of cpm-applications-and-utilities (download the zip file from github to Linux Downloads folder) Example (extracting the zip file to Downloads/riwide) On serial attached cp/m computer use minicom to setup serial console to cp/m machine, do xm r #utils.lbr, then ctrl-z S to invoke file send, then select xmodem. Choose folder riwide, get riwide choose subfolder CPM-applications-and-utilities, get CPM-applications-and-utilities Note that the minicom directory display skips the first 7 entries (this looks like a bug), so that it starts at [MagicWand ... scroll down to [Utilities ...] , choose with double space-bar , but get another folder e.g. Supercalc or Perfect Writer. This is a reproducible bug. Note: I am a retro-computing hobbyist retired from a career in software engineering (Digital Research, Novell, Citrix) with strong experience of software test and QA, which I hope can add weight to my bug report. -- System Information: Debian Release: 12.11 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable-security'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: arm64 (aarch64) Foreign Architectures: armhf Kernel: Linux 6.12.25+rpt-rpi-2712 (SMP w/4 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages minicom depends on: ii libc6 2.36-9+rpt2+deb12u10 ii libtinfo6 6.4-4 Versions of packages minicom recommends: ii lrzsz 0.12.21-10 minicom suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
