Package: net-tools
Version: 2.10-1.3
Severity: normal

Hello Martina,
hello Utkarsh,

current net-tools contains translated man pages for German, French
and Brazilian Portuguese. These man pages are now maintained in
manpages-l10n. For details, see [1].

The first version of manpages-l10n with these translations is 4.28.0-1.
It will be released end of September 2025 and appear quickly afterwards
in Debian, if Trixie is released by then or once Trixi is released.

As per [2] we need to coordinate the file transfer. In debian/control,
you need to add

Breaks: manpages-de (<<4.28.0-1)
Replaces: manpages-de (<<4.28.0-1)
Breaks: manpages-fr (<<4.28.0-1)
Replaces: manpages-fr (<<4.28.0-1)
Breaks: manpages-pt_BR (<<4.28.0-1)
Replaces: manpages-pt_BR (<<4.28.0-1)

Also I need to know the version number of your upload, to set my
"Breaks" accordingly.

I requested in [1] that net-tools performs an upload "soon" without
the translated man pages. However, this might not be the case and you
might need to remove the offending files debian/rules. If you need
help (a patch), please let me know.

This is post release, so please do not perform an upload now, and
please coordinate with me, so the uploads hit unstable roughly the
same time.

In case you need a real patch, please let me know.

Greetings

          Helge
