The good news is that getdns 1.7.3 is now available in Debian. The bad news is that, as previously mentioned, it won't be in trixie. stubby/1.7.3-1 and friends are currently in the experimental suite and I endeavour to propose an upload to unstable after trixie is released. I get the impression there is no particular feature or fix you are after, just the general hygiene of using the latest upstream.
