It's been terribly long ago that I looked at dbconfig-common, but if this change fixes the issue, than I do wonder. As I added the dbconfig-* | dbconfig-no-thanks mechanism long after the adoption of dbconfig-common by packages, there really ought to be a decent fallback.
Can somebody run the reproducer with the dbc_debug ENV variable set? Paul
