Ah, I see, thank you the information. 

Before creating debian bug, we tried running these test cases locally in a 
Debian PC, however faced few issues.
In order to solve the issues, we made some test code changes and pushed them to 
a branch[1].  

But not sure whether the test code changes [2] are really necessary or Are we 
missing anything while running test cases? 
So, we need your help to understand this, so could you please have a look at 
the changes and provide comments/suggestions.  

The test cases are passed with the above changes and also added additional 
files (debian/tests/control, debian/tests/unit) for autopkgtest and confirmed 
the test cases works fine in the autopkgtest environment[3].

Please note all the test code changes are pushed in a single commit as of now, 
we will revise this further.
