   * What led up to the situation? Upgraded from bookworm to trixie
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)? Tried rebuilding keymap tried reinstalling all affected 
packages all to no avail. Booted to debian without xen and debian booted and 
ran but xserver complains system is too slow (same issues with bullseye while 
booting from xen)
   * What was the outcome of this action? boots to base
   * What outcome did you expect instead? boots to xen
