Package: tramp Version: 1:2.0.53-1 Followup-For: Bug #358611 I had the same problem. I think the problem is this line: > # ^M^Msanctum ttypts/10 ~ #
"M-: (re-search-forward tramp-shell-prompt-pattern)" matches the first # and the following spaces, but not the actual prompt. I have no idea where the # comes from, though. I changed tramp-shell-prompt-pattern to ^[#$%>].*[#$%>] *\(^[\[[0-9;]*[a-zA-Z] *\)* as a workaround, but I'm not sure what sideeffects this has (i use tramp mainly for editing files as root) Tom -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.16 Locale: LANG=de_AT.UTF-8, [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages tramp depends on: ii emacs21 21.4a-6 The GNU Emacs editor Versions of packages tramp recommends: ii metamail 2.7-51 implementation of MIME ii openssh-client 1:4.3p2-2 Secure shell client, an rlogin/rsh -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
