Keeping it on unstable like this is not great since there are some libraries that printrun depends upon that are now outdated/deprecated and can't be fully removed unless printrun is removed as well. Patching it just to keep it in unstable will lead to a dead end cause it will still need pyglet < 2 anyway.
As far as I can see, the only problematic package (aside from Pyglet 1.5) was python3-appdir, but that was replaced with python3-platformdirs in printrun 2.2.0 anyway. Consequently, I do understand the argument about users expecting pronterface to be part of the suite, but I don't think it would be too much trouble to only package the parts that don't need a GUI.
It saddens me to see this package out of Debian but until upstream fixes the pyglet issue I don't think it is worth the effort.
That's sad indeed, but since I don't use printrun myself, I don't have a strong argument. In that case, let's initiate removal - or wait until it happens automatically. Regards, Gregor
