Ok, so let me try to see if I understand you correctly:

1- you are using a NEC DVD burner (IDE) on a 2.6.16 kernel
2- K3b 0.12.14 was working fine for you
3- in K3b 0.12.15, you can no longer burn CDs or DVDs
4- however K3b still tells you that the burn was successful
5- the CD (or DVD) that you burned is not readable (or maybe it's empty?)

Is that correct? If not, which sentences are incorrect?

If that's the case, then I think the K3b developer will need more
information from you to try to track down the problem. You will need to
copy (and paste in an email) the full debugging messages. You can get that
by clicking the "Show Debugging Output" button in the DVD writing dialog.

By the way, I noticed that you have a web.de email address which probably
means that German is your native language. If it would be easier for you to
explain your problem in German, you could file your bug directly with the
K3b developer (who is also German). If you prefer to do that, just go to
http://bugs.kde.org and click on "Enter new wish, bug or crash" at the top
of the page.
