Well, on the one hand, you don't want to update the package to the known-
good version in testing, and on the other hand, you don't want to apply
a targeted fix. I'm not sure what kind of solution you're holding out
for that is likely to be feasible.

Updates to chromium are not backported. It's the current release, as a
whole, that makes it into *-proposed-updates. There's no practical way
to do it otherwise.
