Hi, I have same "problems", with bcm43xx on a powerbook g4. When using some open wireless network, NM works, but on a wpa2 (eap-tls) it doesnt, while it works with only wpa_supplicant.
But for it to work I need to unload/reload the driver, then run wpa_supplicant, then tell it to run dhcp (with a wpa-action). I guess NM can't handle this because it's quite complex.
