Package: wayvnc Version: 0.9.1-1; reported 2025-10-17 Severity: normal -- System Information Debian Release: trixie/arm64 Kernel Version: 6.12-rockchip
(environment current as of 2025-10-17 with apt update/upgrade). running on the PinephonePro as a vnc server (apt installed wayvnc): wayvnc 0.0.0.0 or wayvnc -vR 0.0.0.0 results in a gray screen on the client side. The mouse control from remote client *does* work. More information: no errors appear except the following warning, whose timing is (aparently) triggered by the client connection: Warning: ../src/output.c: 300: Output DSI-1 power state failure This may trigger an abort. It doesn't matter which client is used (tested: remmina, tightVNC, tigerVNC). Could not find any conf file settings to fix this problem. These are the client screen settings as reported by tigerVNC Size: 1440 x 720 Pixel format: depth 24 (32bpp) little-endian rgb888 (server default depth 24 (32bpp) little-endian rgb888) Requested encoding: tight Last used encoding: tight .. Protocol version 3.8 It is not clear that VNC servers have ever worked on the PinephonePro (as opposed to the regular Pinephone) using Mobian. However, users of other distros have reported successful VNC connections with wayvnc as server on Phosh using the PinephonePro. The user (in this case the default "mobian") has been added to the "video" users group (with no effect on gray screen issue).
